ONSTAGE NOW:

The SYT core ensemble presents
Twelfth Night; or, What You Will

Directed by Madeline Wall

At once hilarious and heartbreaking, Twelfth Night hurtles through a ‘whirligig’ world of separated twins, mistaken identity, and unrequited love. The boundaries between who we are and who we long to be blur in glorious, comedic chaos in Shakespeare’s beloved play - one of the greatest comedies ever written.

SHAKESPEAREANCES: Ages 9 - 12

Open the door to the rich and enchanting world of William Shakespeare!

Learn how to “suit the action to the word, the word to the action”, and discover the best way to tell a story through gesture, movement, and physical collaboration.

Students will work together to discover the hidden meanings behind some of Shakespeare’s most famous lines and step into the shoes of his beloved characters -- cunning villains, witty fools, melancholy kings, and brave heroines!

Core Ensemble

Students in Shakespearean Youth Theatre’s Core Ensemble acting class spend six months delving into one Shakespeare play, studying the text and analyzing the story’s themes, characters, and poetic construction, as well as working with professional theatre artists to strengthen acting and performance skills in voice, movement, stage combat, and storytelling. In the second half of of the program, students rehearse with a professional director and perform in a full - length production of the play.

September - March, annually | by invitation only
