THE SYT CORE ENSEMBLE

Our flagship program for young performers.

 
 
 

The SYT Core Ensemble is an ensemble of fifteen young actors in the Acting Track program and twelve student designers in the Tech Track program.  It is an intensive six-month experience, focused on building classical acting skills, conceiving and devising new and innovative interpretations of Shakespeare’s works, and performing in/ designing professionally directed and mentored productions of Shakespeare’s plays. KEY SKILLS:

The SYT Core Ensemble is taught by a rotating team of exceptional theatre artists. Each director brings a new set of skills and expertise to the program, but every Core Ensemble experience will include training and skill building in these key areas:

  • Vocal training and Shakespearean text work

  • Movement and physical composition

  • Character development and scene study

  • Ensemble building
